Just a 10 minute drive from Posedarje is the little seaside village of Vinjerac and here hides a culinary surprise, “Konoba Pece”, who is turning traditional fare into slow food.
At first glance, this looks like just another typical Dalmatian seafood tavern, although with a bigger and nicer garden and terrace. But the owner’s gourmet philosophy and great passion push this place a little bit further. Take the usual ingredients, but give them that extra touch. The whole philosophy here is to decide the main direction of the meal and then you just let go.
The place is beautiful, staff very friendly, and the seafood is delicious.The cook who is also the owner likes to choose food for you.
Tavern “Pece” is in the top 20 restaurants in Dalmatia, selected by food experts for jutarnji.hr, most popular newspapers in Croatia.
And just to be prepared: this is a Slow Food restaurant, so don´t be surprised if the food takes some time…

Posedarje is typical, small, Mediterranean place, settled on the coast of Novigrad Sea.
If you have your own boat, you have the possibility of enjoying sailing, or water-skiing, which is especially easy because of the stillness of the sea.
Nearby the gravel beach, there is also the sandy beach. It is only 10 minutes away with small vessel or 5 minutes ride with a car. It is also very appropriate for younger swimmers as well as for beginners. It is also interesting for it’s shallow water and if you want to reach the 1,5 meters depth which provides you safe and careless swim,you have to walk or swim around 150 meters till you get there.
The place is also known for eco food production. It is especially known for the production of Dalmatian prosciutto ham. The specific wind as well as the characteristic micro-climate of a mountain-sea air (which benefits this product) give it the special quality and taste.
It is also known for local specialties, fishing, shellfish farming, virgin olive oil production, homemade brandy, wine and dry figs. All of these specialties can be tasted in restaurants that are settled in the center of the place. Therefore, you don’t need any vehicle to get there. It only takes a 5-minute walk to the center.

What is so interesting about “Posedarje area” that will make you want to travel to this part of Adriatic coast?
I’ll give you few reasons why you should visit this beautiful part of Mediterranean. If You don’t see anything interesting I just can say “Thank you” and I’ll hope that you will find some other part of Croatia for yourself.
1. Posedarje is located only 20 km from old Roman city called Zadar which is the center of the Northern Dalmatia. Full of history buildings, walls, forums, museums…., all that will give you ancient spirit.
2. Do you love climbing, wild nature, fresh mountain air, all that just few steps from sea, from beaches and bays? Nacional park “Paklenica” is something that You need for that.
3. Perfect beaches and bays for You and your family, sandy beach “Sv. Duh” in Posedarje gives you hundreds meters of shallow and clean water.
4. Do you love adventure and adrenaline? Perfect, cycle routes in Posedarje/Vinjerac, Canue safari on river “Zrmanja” and bungee jumping from “Maslenica bridge” will give You all pleasure.
5. You don’t need weather forecast, here is just one type of the question about weather: “How strong will be sunny today?”
6. You love healthy and delicious food? Posedarje’s the most famous product is “Posedarski prosciutto”(smoked ham), fresh food and fish. I have to recommend you to visit “Konoba PECE” in Vinjerac, one of the top 10 restaurants(mediterranean kitchen) in Croatia.
7. This one reason to visit my place is unique local resort, called “Čelinka”. This place is represents our past, present and future. All of these structures, statues, this nature, gives you every single picture of our culture, our way of live and You ‘ll see our history. All this is result of hard work by our artist Vinko Kajmak.
